Completion of Peer Mediation Certificate
We are proud to announce that 24 of our Year 10 students have completed the two day Peer Mediation Certificate in partnership with the Resolution Centre in Jersey.
This exciting initiative aims to provide vital support for students experiencing conflicts with their peers.
The Peer Mediators are trained to offer neutral coaching support, empowering their fellow students to identify and explore their own solutions to the challenges they face.
By facilitating open dialogue, these mediators will create a safe space where students can communicate effectively and resolve their issues amicably.
Our Head Teacher, Mr Hughes, said “We are incredibly excited about this initiative. It not only equips our students with valuable skills but also fosters a sense of community and mutual respect within our school.
The Peer Mediators will play a crucial role in supporting their peers and promoting a positive school environment.”
The training provided students with essential skills in conflict resolution, communication, and empathy, preparing them to handle a variety of situations they may encounter in their school life.
The Peer Mediation program aligns with the school’s commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all students.
Peer Mediators will be available to students through a referral process and they will be ready to assist those in need of support. Their role is not to solve problems for others, but to guide their peers in discovering their own solutions, thereby enhancing their problem-solving skills and confidence.
We are dedicated to nurturing the personal development of our students, and the Peer Mediation initiative is a significant step towards achieving this goal.
And we’re look forward to witnessing the positive impact this program will have on our school community.
