Wheelchair Art for Awareness Initiative.
Haute Vallée were announced as the Winner of “Most Creative” category in the Jersey Cheshire Homes “Wheelchair Art for Awareness” initiative.
Launched in June 2024, and culminating during National Inclusion Week in September 2024, participants were invited take part in this innovative challenge, for which imagination was the only limit. By selecting a theme that aligns with disability awareness, empowerment and inclusion, and then designing and decorating a wheelchair based on this.
Wheelchairs were supplied by Jersey Cheshire homes to all schools and community groups who signed up and the decorating commenced.
Haute Vallée Students chose the title “Force of Nature” for their entry which featured intricate 2D and 3D elements inspired by the natural world.
Their piece embodied the beauty of the outdoors and the importance of accessibility for all, aiming to remind us to make natural spaces, like walking routes, more inclusive for wheelchair users.
“Nature is for everyone. Help us make this message heard”
The winners were selected by Gillian Duke of CAA Galleries, and she had this to say about our entry,
“Haute Vallée’s design transports you into a serene and magical world, far removed from day-to-day worries. It’s a masterpiece that connects creativity with a deeper message about our connection to the outdoors.”
